After enjoying her sister’s wedding a week ago, our client Shilpa was excited for her own wedding! She had played the role of a bridesmaid at her sister Neelima’s wedding in an icy blue gown. Now, she wanted a pristine white gown for her Church wedding. So, here is how we designed the wedding dress of Shilpa’s dreams!

Since our team was assigned the task of designing wedding gowns for both Shilpa and her sister, we made sure that each gown reflected their individual styles and personalities. So, while Neelima’s gown was elegant and chic, we chose some trendy and vivid design elements for Shilpa’s custom-made wedding gown. These included asymmetrical layering on the gown skirt, an eye-catching train, and a corset back.

We used three layers of fabric for the skirt: a satin lining, a layer of net, and an asymmetric layer of satin on top. The top two layers had patchwork embroidery to further adorn the skirt. We also added matching patchwork embroidery net sleeves to the gown for a cohesive look. The front of the gown had an illusion boat neckline, while the back had a corset with a tying mechanism.

To add to the drama of the look, we gave the gown an 18-inch train. We also made a 44-inch fingertip veil to complete the bridal look with a flourish.
