Most modern Indian brides love to experiment with offbeat colours and Indo-western styles for their wedding reception party. Unlike other wedding events that have rituals associated with them, thus demanding specific outfit styles and colours, the reception party is the ideal occasion to wear a unique and fashionable dress. Plus, the reception outfit is one in which the bride wants to move about freely while looking her stylish best.
Our client Ipsha was also looking for a striking and unique reception party gown for her upcoming wedding. She wanted the gown dress to have an Indo-western style and a vivid colour; something different from the traditional bridal hues.
Our designers paid close attention to her requirements and recommended a stunning turquoise reception gown. Shades of blue and green are trending this wedding season and the turquoise hue would be ideal for the reception. We further suggested ruffles and layers for a dramatic look.
Ipsha loved the idea and so we went ahead with creating a spectacular turquoise gown for her. We chose a circular-cut silhouette for the gown dress and added volume with three asymmetric layers of net fabric, finished with satin.
We further added volume and drama to the skirt with cancan, on top of which we layered crepe and satin for a royal finish. The inner lining of the marriage reception gown was of soft cotton so that Ipsha would be completely at ease in the dress.
We also added some eye-catching details on the sleeves. One sleeve had a ruffled design, while the other had a trendy draped shoulder sleeve. In terms of embellishments, the custom-made reception gown had Zardozi floral embroidery on the yoke and stonework all over. Since the gown already had many elaborate design elements, we chose a simple boat neckline for the front and the back.
