It’s that time of the year when the calendar starts reminding you of the festive season around the corner and you start peeking inside your wardrobe looking for the perfect traditional outfit to wear in upcoming festivals
Our client, Sirisha seems very excited about the upcoming celebrations, so a few weeks back, she started digging deep into her closet in a hope to find something different to wear this year during the festivals. She found two gorgeous Kanjivaram silk sarees in her closet and decided to revamp them into a completely different ethnic wear and so she visited us with an idea of redesigning these sarees into a traditional outfit. Kanjivaram sarees of India make use of a combination of numerous colored threads and enhancing the saris is the exquisite and elaborate zari work
As soon as our designers put their eyes on Sirisha’s luxe Kanjivaram Saree in mustard color, they fell in love with the color and saree’s pallu. They decided to turn the mustard saree into a nice elaborated circular lehenga skirt with a saree border placed at the hem. Our designers transformed the gorgeous pallu into a designer blouse, which is so diverse and can be easily clubbed with any other sarees. They complimented a pure chiffon dupatta in green to the ensemble. The green color of dupatta harmonized with the blouse color palette. To add more elements to a simple chiffon dupatta, our designers added a scalloped lace on the edge
Sirisha’s other Kanjivaram saree, in red and gold, was an epitome of craftsmanship, a classic traditional silk saree with gold zari work, and we aspired to transform it into a designer contemporary wear for her. Our designers, designed a multiple panels gown from the saree, similar to an Anarkali gown, with elbow-length sleeves and adding the border at the bottom of the gown to give it a more elongated floor-length designer gown look
Sirisha looks so pretty flaunting her new festive wardrobe in these pictures shot at the boutique. We are glad to have successfully accomplished transforming her kanjivaram sarees into two different ethnic wears
