Our client, Akanksha, was visiting the US for a family wedding and instead of buying an entire set of new clothes, she wanted to use some of her wardrobe pieces and turn them into a different ethnic wear look.
Akanksha came to our boutique with a beautiful phulkari dupatta and a classic off-white georgette saree with embellished border
For her phulkari dupatta, since it had so many vibrant colours, our designers decided to make something that is simple and classic, preferably in a monochromatic hue, balancing out the vibrancy of her colorful phulkari dupatta. So, we went with a Rama Green colour, knee length kurta design with three-fourth sleeves and a straight fit pants. Something that was not too heavy and can also be worn later easily as separate pieces. To give little details in kurta and add a celebration flavour into the entire ensemble, we included embroidered buttons on the neckline
For Akanksha’s beautiful off-white georgette saree, we aspired to pair it with a statement saree blouse that’s contemporary but had some traditional elements to it. As also concluded after the Indian Couture week 2019 collections, showcased by Indian designers, a statement blouse is an essential wardrobe addition. To do something unique and beautiful with a sequin sheath material given to us by our client, we designed a cold shoulder designer blouse with tube sequins embellishments on the sleeves, portraying like a beautiful piece of jewellery around her arms.
Akanksha looked great in both of her traditional dresses and carried the attire very elegantly. She is giving us some serious goals to rock an ethnic wear with a minimalistic look
