We took inspiration from this trend and dressed a mother-daughter duo in stunning gold outfits for the little girl’s 9th birthday party. Here is how we made the mom and daughter matching dresses look phenomenal on both our clients
We were approached by our client Santosh to design mother and daughter dresses for his wife and daughter. The brief was that the outfits should look festive and unique as they were meant for the special occasion of his daughter’s 9th birthday party. We decided to design a voluminous frock for the little girl and an elegant, embellished saree for the mom in a glorious shade of gold that would tie the outfits together
For the mother’s outfit, we chose a golden foil fabric that had a lot of fluidity to it and would drape in a flattering manner. After the fall and edging for the bottom border, we pre-pleated the pallu of the saree and embroidered a motif on it using sparkly sequins
The pre-pleated pallu added a modern vibe to the traditional outfit and we thought that it would make the saree super easy to slip into and carry throughout the hustle and bustle of the party
We chose the same fabric for the blouse and scattered sequins across it to resemble a galaxy. A metallic fringe was added to the border of the sleeves to make the design more eye-catching and youthful
Our designers went with a layered skirt for the daughter’s birthday dress. Three layers of golden organza were used with a Tungus wire finish at the bottom to add volume to the skirt
An asymmetrical hemline was chosen for the tiers of the skirt to add a playful touch to the outfit. The embellished yoke was constructed using chantilly lace and was embellished with sequins to make the birthday dress look even more special
The Final Look
The embellishments and the dazzling hue of the dresses made them perfect for the joyous occasion. Santosh’s wife and daughter looked enchanting in the final outfits and the matching tones of gold made them look adorable together
