Lehengas have been a part of the Indian trousseau for ages. Every bride would wear it at least once in one of the many wedding ceremonies, be it a sangeet, mehndi, reception, or wedding. Modern age brides however are bored of the usual vermilion red lehenga and want to experiment with colors & styles. We’ve seen brides experimenting with their lehenga colors from fiery greens and blues to sublime pinks and lavenders.
Our dear client Bhamini is getting married this season & she wanted us to design a Modern style lehenga dress for wearing in one of her pre-wedding ceremonies.
The most important decision for your lehenga blouse design is the fabric for the lehenga skirt. There are many fabrics that can be used for a lehenga, but when we consider the beautiful brocade fabric in Jacquard weave, we consider extravagance.
The special weaving method gives an unmistakable sheen and shaded impact, that seems to resemble a hand woven fabric, while being more streachier & comfortable. We chose the gorgeous Jacquard Brocade for Bhamini with a floral print
From the many popular silhouettes, we designed a paneled or ‘Kali wala’ lehenga skirt
V neck blouses continue to be trend this year as well and we embellished the neckline with western style threadwork embroidery.
Changing times call for changing trends and modern age designers continue to impress with their innovation. Specifically in Bridal fashion, we see fresh and offbeat hues in the color palette, edgy and modish blouse styles & even amping up the dupatta styles. We’re being literally spoilt for choices!
The ruffled dupatta for Bhamini’s lehenga blouse design, is inspired from the Modern Day Bridal fashion

It was a absolute pleasure when Bhamini tried this at the boutique & agreed to feature in this short video. Thank you Bhamini for choosing Lavender, The Boutique.
Wish you a very happy married life ahead!
