Most brides love to experiment with unique colours and styles on their engagement day. Our client Supriya also wanted an offbeat lehenga for her engagement function. She visited Lavender, The Boutique on the quest for something colourful, fashionable, and extravagant. Here is how our designers gave Supriya the engagement lehenga of her dreams!
Lighter colours work better for an engagement lehenga or half saree because the wedding outfit is usually made using fabrics in darker hues. So, we chose a unique onion pink fabric for Supriya’s engagement dress. The fabric was embroidered using shades of pink, mustard, blue, and gold for an eye-catching effect. Stone embellishments imparted an even grander look to the material.
We used this beautiful fabric to create a kali-wala lehenga for Supriya and made sure that the skirt had ample volume with the help of cancan. To further enhance the wow factor of the lehenga, we added pillow latkans and a fabric belt. The belt served the dual purpose of being a trendy accessory for the lehenga while also securing the dupatta in place.
For the matching blouse, we chose a padded blouse design with transparent sleeves and a round neck. We created a deep V-neckline at the back with a one-inch border and also added a dori and latkans to embellish the look.
We completed the half saree engagement outfit with a lightweight net dupatta that had a matching border and small bootas all over the net.
