Thanks to the number of functions in an Indian wedding, guests get to flaunt different styles at each event. Our client Debina was also looking for five unique yet trendy wedding guest looks for a marriage she was planning to attend in Gujarat. Here is how our team created five stylish and different looks that were all equally flattering on our beautiful client.

Debina wanted five different outfits – two saree blouses, a lehenga, a crop top and skirt, and a Patiala salwar suit. Since Debina is thin with a narrow frame, we selected various design elements to add more volume to the outfits. Hence, ruffles played a key role in most of her looks, but in different ways.

For the first saree blouse, Debina wanted something modern that would complement a fuchsia pink Kanjivaram saree. For the contemporary element, we suggested a pink padded sleeveless blouse with a V-neckline. To add more definition to the shoulders, we added pink ruffles that were an eye-catching element for the look. The V-neckline with the ruffles and sleeveless design added a modern twist to the traditional Kanjivaram saree.

Debina wanted a lehenga for her second look. Since she preferred a mix of traditional and modern elements, we suggested an embellished cream lehenga skirt with a rolled high collar black blouse for a striking and unique half saree design. We used a heavily embroidered fabric with mirrorwork for the lehenga skirt and made it into a Kaliwala panel lehenga for more volume and drama.

To create a stunning contrast, the blouse was made using plain black satin with a rolled high collar for a unique look. We also added ruffles to the 3/4th sleeves of the blouse for some movement. To complete the half saree design, we made a dupatta using an off-white net fabric that matched the skirt. We also took some fabric from the lehenga to create a border for the dupatta to tie the look together.

For her third outfit, Debina wanted a skirt and a crop top for a Western look. We chose a trendy maroon satin fabric for this outfit. We made a high-waisted satin skirt with knife pleats. For the crop top, we went with a modern plunging V neckline with Bishop sleeves for more volume. We also added a lace border to the sleeves for a richer look and gave padding to the crop top for the perfect fit.

Debina’s fourth outfit was a Patiala salwar suit. We designed the Kurta using a heavily embroidered fabric. She wanted a deep back for the kurta, so we added padding to eliminate the need for undergarments that may show through.

We chose elbow sleeves for the Kurta as they pair well with a short Kurta and Patiala salwar look. Further, we made the Patiala salwar with a black satin fabric that would draw more attention to the colourful embroidery on the Kurta. To complete this stylish look, we added black Doris with latkans at the back.

For her final look, Debina wanted a blouse for her light pink Kanjeevaram saree. This blouse was created using the blouse piece that came with the saree. To add an interesting twist to this traditional look, we created an inverted V at the back which was supported by a Dori. Since the back was the designer element of the blouse, we kept the rest of the blouse design simple with a round neck and elbow sleeves.
