The Corona Virus has impacted every aspect of the way we live and has made all of us extra cautious regarding our hygiene and safety. In these testing times, it is our endeavour at Lavender, The Boutique to provide our customers with safe clothing that is untouched by human hands. Unlike readymade apparel that passes through many hands and is even tried on by multiple customers, the clothes made at our boutique adhere to our strict hygiene standards and are constructed specifically for you without any prior human contact. Here are all the hygiene and safety measures that we implement with 100% diligence to provide you safe clothing that ensures your peace of mind

Safe Customer Experience

From the moment you step into the boutique store, till the delivery of your dress, a number of measures have been adopted, to ensure a hygencially safe & secure environment while you enjoy the same warmth and hospitality as always

Here are some of the safeguards that have been put in place

1. Safety Checks for Customers

We humbly request all our customers to wear masks while visiting the boutique. We shall not be entertaining any customers who are not wearing masks for the sake of their own safety as well as the safety of our other customers and staff. Additionally, we are currently conducting temperature screening and hand sanitization for all our customers upon arrival. We request you to kindly co-operate with our staff regarding the same as these measures have been taken keeping your own health in mind

2. Safe Design Discussions

You could choose to have the design discussions over video, like most of our international clients.

In-person discussions are also welcome & safe at the store. The designer will sanitize herself before the start of the discussions. Any apparatus used (e.g. design sheets, iPads etc) shall be operated only by our designer while wearing PPE at all times – you do not touch any surface at all

Multiple customer discussion areas with adequate physical distancing have also been created to facilitate simultaneous design discussions on busy days

For body measurements, the measurement tape is duly sanitized before & after every use. In addition, the designer will sanitize her hands before and after taking the measurements, while wearing the mask at all times

3. Safe Customer Fitting Trials

We leave each garment in isolation for a minimum of 48 hours before the customer is called in for trials

Our existing trial room is sufficient to accommodate 3-4 people at a time, however, given the new social distancing requirements, we have converted a full 10ft X 10 ft room into a trial area. This will ensure sufficient distancing between the customer and the designer, whenever the designer is called in during trials, so that you can try on the garment without any worries

4. Contactless Delivery

Once the garment is ready for delivery, it will be steam ironed for sanitization and will be packed by a staff member who shall be wearing gloves at all times while handling the garment. In this manner, we will ensure that we only provide you safe clothing, that has never been touched by human hands and is perfectly safe to wear

Employee Health & Safety

Daily Screening of staff

We have created staggered shifts for our staff, with only 33% of the employees at work at any time. The Aarogya Setu app, hand sanitization upon arrival and wearing of masks round the clock mandatory for all our staff members. No staff member is allowed entry into the boutique unless they have a green status on the Aarogya Setu app and pass our daily temperature screening.

All employees practice social distancing while performing their everyday work and also during the breaks. They are made to sanitize their hands at least 3-4 times throughout their shifts

Vendor Screening

All the vendors that visit the boutique, including delivery persons, food and beverage suppliers, and cleaners, are only allowed entry after confirmation of green status on the Aarogya Setu app, temperature screening, and thorough hand sanitization. We strictly deny entry to any vendor who refuses to comply with the screening process

Thorough Shop Sanitization

All the common areas of the boutique, as well as the restrooms, are being sanitized with disinfectants and bleach multiple times a day

Safe Production Environment

Shoes and any other footwear is anyways not allowed inside the boutique, since beginning.

Each workstation is disinfected before the shift startes. Cross use of equipment and machines is not encouraged even if all the equipment and machines have been sanitised

Safety isn’t expensive, its priceless!

Coming Together

In times of crisis

Employee Support

Even though the Corona crisis has been difficult for us as a business, with the boutique being shut down for 2 months, we have supported all our employees throughout this testing period. We have ensured that all the members of our Lavender family have a safe place to live and adequate food and supplies to stay fit and healthy. While migrant workers across the nation have been trying all means to go back to their villages due to the lack of income, we have managed to retain all our employees with the help of our relief measures and are fighting this crisis together as a family

Masks for All

Since design flows through our blood, we have created our own range of masks in-house using 2 layers of pre-shrunk breathable cotton. The comfortable fabric of our masks ensures that our staff can wear them with ease for the long hours that they spend at work. Our masks also come with cotton ties instead of elastic bands to secure the mask in place, and therefore do not hurt the ears or dig into the skin as elastic does. We have also added our creative flair to the masks by bringing out nor just masks in solid colours, but also quirky printed and embroidered options. Moreover, you too can grab one of our chic and comfy masks at a throwaway price!

Thanks to all these hygiene measures, we are able to ensure zero-contact production and delivery of safe clothing. With so many watertight safeguards in place, we invite you to visit Lavender, The Boutique for all you apparel needs without any safety concerns. By allowing us to serve you, you will not only be supporting a local business, as has been encouraged by our honourable PM, but will also be able to take home exclusive, custom-made designs that are perfectly safe for you and your family!
