Hyderabad is known as the city of Nizams. The spectacular architecture and monuments will force you to admire the charm of the city. Hyderabad is home to many traditional and ancient artifacts. Just like all these things, Hyderabad is also known for its Nawabi style weddings and events. From the groom’s parents to the bride’s parents, every individual does everything in style. From clothes to food, everything is done in a relaxed and calm fashion. That’s how people have always been in this city
So when our client, Leena, and Majid, visited our boutique looking for an outfit to be worn on a wedding function in Hyderabad, we knew our inspiration will come from Hyderabad’s rich nawab culture. We aimed to design an outfit for them that’s spectacular in every way, just like the royal families of nizams
For Leena, we designed a lehenga skirt outfit in emerald green color net fabric and added a rich velvet border to it. Her lehenga was embellished with a heavy zardozi embroidery using cutdana, dabka & zari work. Her blouse was made out of pure raw silk blouse with scoop neckline and elbow-length sleeves with heavy zardozi work all over the fabric. To this outfit, we added an emerald green dupatta in net fabric that also has some embroidery with a scalloped border
It took 3 people who worked for 8 days to detail the beautiful embroidery work on her lehenga blouse
For Majid, we designed a traditional sherwani in aqua blue color raw silk fabric. We gave it a unique hemline and cross-checked buttons adding a few elements of surprise to this outfit. His sherwani was clubbed with a cream color trouser completing his outfit
We must say both of them looked as royal as the family of nizam and reminded us of the luxurious lifestyle of the nawab era
