Beauty pageants represent the endeavor to define femininity and grace as well as ever-changing gender roles in society. Women are the most beautiful creation on this planet and beauty pageants are one of the platforms where we appreciate and celebrate womanhood. We feel proud that our client, Madhumati had the opportunity and was one of the finalists for the most distinguished pageants in the country, Mrs. India<\/a><\/p>

She approached us to design the entire wardrobe for the various rounds of the grand finale event scheduled in September this year. We had detailed discussions on the look for each round and it was truly inspiring to come up with the following Haute Couture Dresses<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

For her introductory round, we designed a white gown with a V neckline in satin and sequin sheath fabric. Taking inspiration from Georges Chakra SS19 collection<\/a> and using this nice and flowy fabric, we draped a petal shape on the left side of her gown giving it a more modern and couture look. The gown fit her beautifully and she looked so pretty, like a Greek goddess<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

For the photoshoot round, we aspired to design something that shows movement and hence will allow the photographer to capture the movement in a static picture, thus filling it with drama and story. We absolutely loved this champagne color gown designed by our designers with a princess cut A-line silhouette and a halter neckline and instead of a simple hemline, we went for a cascading hemline allowing more movement<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The next round was a theme round, where each participant had to identify herself with a cause. Madhu chose the message of \u201csave the weavers\u201d which we think is a beautiful cause since traditional weavers are disappearing in India and so is this unique talent. For this round, we designed a floor-length lehenga skirt from her mother’s 40-year-old, pure kanjivaram saree which truly showcases the artwork of weavers in India. We did not cut it from anywhere to retain the saree as is but only stitched it by pleating the saree wherever required. Her tube top was made from pure raw silk fabric in green shade matching with the saree border<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

For the final round, we designed a fish cut bandeau gown in blue color with a thigh high slit. Its long and dramatic chapel train behind the dress elevated the gown to a royal level. We used a sequin sheath net fabric and added black glitter on the yoke of the dress and silver on it flare. To add more volume to the flare we used cancan underneath the fabric<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Since this gown had multiple layers, we wanted to give support to the gown, so we designed a handmade black rose on the right shoulder to hold the heavy gown with a strap placed beneath. Madhu seems to be floating in this dreamy gown. The fit was fabulous and she stunned onstage<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
