Gone are the days when the runways were meant for a model of a typical body type. The fashion industry is getting more inclusive day by day and beauty pageants like Ms Plus Size are reflecting this change into society by organizing beauty pageants for plus size models
We were very ecstatic when our client, Najma Kausar Zia, one of the very few finalists of Ms. Plus Size contest chose us to design dresses for her to wear in various rounds for this beauty contest

For the ethnic wear round, we designed a straight knee-length kurta and salwar in fuchsia pink clubbed with a lime green dupatta in georgette fabric which can be totally worn as a different look in daily life. We added a golden border to dupatta and also to the hem of the kurta to harmonize both pieces. We must say Najma styled the outfit beautifully with all the accessories and looked like a royal begum from the 19th century

Another outfit that Najma was looking for was a red gown since the theme of the round was red. For this round, we designed a floor-length gown with an A-line silhouette and spaghetti strap in red net and satin fabric. We draped pleats around the waist using net fabric that enhanced the body shape of our beautiful client. Since its a beauty pageant, how can one miss some bling to the outfit. A very fine embroidery around the neckline done by our in-house embroidery team embellished the outfit and was all set to go on the runway

For the final round, we designed a black georgette classic gown but that was not it. As Julia Child once said: “Drama is very important in life: You have to come on with a bang.” and since round was the finale we surely wanted some drama on the stage and hence we added dramatic long sleeves to the gown, inspired by Sonam Kapoor’s Cannes Festival outfit by Elie Saab . The gown was embellished with a beautiful 3D floral embroidery around shoulders, made out of net fabric, stones, and metallic color beads. Our Ms. Confident, Najma, definitely looked like a dream in all her outfits

We were very proud to see Najma rocking the runway in our designs. She completely deserved to be Ms. Confident and a finalist on such a platform
