Throughout the year we see something being celebrated and no matter how minor the festival or occasion might be the celebrations are always on a grand scale and so should be your outfit. Our client, Pallavi, was in a similar situation when she visited our boutique. She had to attend her brother-in-law’s wedding and wanted a blouse stitched for her traditional kanjeevaram saree
Her saree was in a beautiful unique color palette of brown and purple with zari border and the blouse piece was a plain deep purple color fabric with a border matching the saree. We wanted to make the blouse exquisite and uplift the entire look
We agreed upon doing some embroidery work on the blouse piece. Golden embroidery is always a popular choice for saree blouses including Kanjeevaram silk blouse designs. Colors such as deep red or a dark blue shade and even our client, Pallavi’s blouse in deep purple shade looks absolutely ravishing when paired with golden thread work
We decided to do a kasab and zardozi handmade embroidery work on the blouse. Zardozi work is famous for being detailed involving gold and silver threads and kasab is a variation of zardozi. For Pallavi’s blouse, we choose zardozi work in gold thread that was also going well with the saree border. Instead of intricate design, we chose a simple and small motif to do the embroidery all over the blouse. We stitched the blouse with an elbow-length sleeve giving it a traditional touch
We must say the delicate work on the blouse met perfectly the sheen and elegance of the Kanjivaram saree and increased the elegance of the ensemble by so many levels.
She seemed happy in her outfit and that definitely uplifts our spirit
