When it comes to bridal blouses, a traditional Kerala wedding is synonymous with intricate embellishments and elegant designs. This is precisely what our client Sharanya wanted when she visited our boutique in search of a marriage designer blouse. She wanted this embellished blouse to complement her red wedding saree. She also needed a simpler blouse for her temple wedding, to go with her traditional Kerala half saree or Mundu. Keeping Sharanya’s design requirements in mind, our team created two magnificent bridal designer blouses for her dream wedding in 2020.
Sharanya’s wedding outfit was a gorgeous red Kanjivaram saree, for which she needed a matching embellished blouse. An all-red ensemble is a favourite among brides, be it fancy Bollywood weddings or a traditional affair. Hence, keeping in mind the coordinated theme, we decided to match the embellishments of the blouse to the saree.
Since the saree had peacock motifs, which are popular in South Indian weddings, we added them to the blouse too.
Also, as ornaments would cover the front of the blouse, we added more details to the back and sleeves
Our designers adorned the blouse with sequins, beads and embroidery for a royal look. We also created a keyhole for the wedding blouse back design, with majestic peacock motifs circling it. Sharanya also requested us to add Laxmi idols to the blouse. So, we stitched the idols at the ends of the sleeves for a majestic appeal.
Design for the Temple Wedding
For the Mundu blouse, we used a simple off-white brocade fabric to match the traditional temple wedding theme. We kept the design of this blouse very simple to bring out the true beauty of the gold jewellery and the Mundu. Hence, we focused on the fit and comfort of the blouse to ensure that Sharanya would be at ease during the wedding rituals.
The Final Look
Both the bridal looks turned out to be marvellous, and Sharanya looked amazing in the two outfits. As we kept the theme of the events in mind while designing her blouses, they complimented her jewellery, makeup and sarees perfectly. Of course, Sharanya’s beautiful smile took the outfits to the next level, and we can safely assume that all eyes were on the bride throughout the wedding!
