Eid is a day to celebrate to the fullest with your loved ones and your Eid outfit should match up to the pomp and show of the festivities. One of the most spectacular Eid outfits that we have designed was for our client Nihadh who had approached us right before the Eid with the demand for a sparkly lehenga. Here is how we carefully created Nihadh’s dream lehenga, one Swarovski crystal at a time!
Since Nihadh wanted a lehenga that would glitter and sparkle under the Eid lighting, we decided to choose a navy blue base fabric for her outfit as crystals and sequins show up beautifully against a deep blue canvas. Be it Western party wear gowns or Indian bridal lehengas, navy blue is often the colour of choice for heavily embellished outfits due to this reason
We chose a rich navy blue velvet fabric for the lehenga skirt and blouse and embellished it with Swarovski crystals, zari, lace and sequin work all over for the bling factor
We picked an A-line silhouette for the skirt that would pair well with the velvet material and would complement Nihadh’s frame. The blouse was kept simple and modest to be appropriate for Eid, with round necks at the front and the back and elbow-length sleeves
Since the lehenga skirt and blouse were made of rich and heavy velvet, the dupatta was kept light with an off-white net material and a navy blue velvet border was added so that it would match the rest of the outfit
The Final Look
Nihadh looked extremely pretty in her Eid lehenga that fit her perfectly. The embellished navy blue velvet looked completely festive and regal and the light dupatta added a youthful feel to the outfit. Overall the lehenga glittered like the midnight sky, a perfect ensemble to welcome the moon on Eid!
